Asher McGlothlin grew up in Grundy, Virginia, a small town in Rural Appalachia. Asher’s initial interest in building came at a young age from tagging along with his grandfather to work on carpentry projects. For his Eagle Scout Project, he constructed an indoor batting cage to facilitate off-season practice for his high school baseball team. This project fostered Asher’s passion for purpose-driven community development projects. After graduating from Grundy High School, Asher enrolled in the University of Virginia’s School of Architecture where he was awarded with the Faculty Award for Public Service upon graduating for his work on the Grundy Teen Center Project. Before joining Firstfloor, Asher received his Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Real Estate Development degrees from Columbia University. Asher continues to incorporate his passion for community development into his work at Firstfloor, ensuring that all our projects have a positive impact in the neighborhoods where we work.
