The five Firstfloor Horry County schools were designed and created to make an impact on the environment and the students and faculty that spend every day in them. These five buildings are energy positive, meaning they are designed to create more energy than they consume.
The schools are able to meet the energy positive status through their multiple features–ranging from the materials used to the usage of natural heat and lighting. The architecture and design of these schools have even won awards for some of the Horry County Schools.
